ERIN M. SHAPIRO is a partner with the Boston law firm of Atwood & Cherny, a nationally recognized law firm concentrating in the practice of family law. Erin has been involved in various complex matrimonial matters and custody disputes on both the trial and appellate levels for over twenty years. She has been appointed as a Discovery Master, Guardian ad Litem, Conciliator, and Attorney for Children by Justices of the Probate Court in domestic relations matters. She serves as Guardian ad Litem in the Superior Court of Massachusetts. Erin represented the late Karen Sharpe who was murdered by her husband, Dr. Richard Sharpe, during their divorce litigation. This matter received national media attention and has been the subject of many television shows, including Court TV, Dateline, and the Investigative Discovery Channel by whom Erin was interviewed and she appeared in a televised episode regarding the Sharpe matter. Erin engages in pro bono work under both the Worcester and Middlesex Probate & Family Courts Attorney Representing Children Program. Erin is also the Managing Partner of the satellite office of Atwood & Cherny in Northborough, Massachusetts.
