Rachael E. MacKenzie


Rachael E. MacKenzie is an associate with the Boston law firm of Atwood & Cherny, having joined the firm in 2011.  Ms. MacKenzie’s practice focuses on all aspects of family law, including divorce, custody, pre and postnuptial agreements, and post-divorce litigation such as actions for contempt and modification and appellate work.  Ms. MacKenzie’s practice also includes probate litigation.

Ms. MacKenzie is a 2005 graduate from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (B.A. cum laude 2005), and received her law degree from Suffolk University Law School (J.D. 2008).  Ms. MacKenzie is licensed to practice in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. MacKenzie served as Law Clerk to the Justices of the Superior Court of Connecticut.  Ms. MacKenzie assisted the Justices with the research and drafting of decisions on dispositive hearings and complex issues of law.  Following her clerkship but prior to joining Atwood & Cherny, Ms. MacKenzie was an associate at the Wakefield law firm of Nigro, Pettepit & Lucas, LLP where she focused her practice on all aspects of family law and probate litigation.

Ms. MacKenzie is currently serving a term as Secretary for the First District Eastern Middlesex Bar Association.
